Philip Edmonds

Phil has been in the international steel trading industry for well over 30 years, starting with Stemcor in 1989 where he remained until 2015 as Group Deputy Chairman. He established M7 Metals in 2015 together with his two partners.

During Phil’s steel trading career, he has handled most steel products and most markets, as well as having a deep experience in treasury, shipping and logistics, IT, accounting, and steel derivatives. Phil’s vision for the business is simple – to offer the highest-class service to our customers and suppliers whilst continuing to innovate in what is a very traditional industry.

In his spare time Phil enjoys cycling and skiing, system development, investing, cooking (particularly Indian food), music, buying new gadgets, travelling, and paying for his four children. He lives with his partner Tena in Walchwil, Switzerland.

Moji Khojasteh
Partner

Moji has been in the steel trading industry for 39 years.

Moji is a metallurgist, and his primary speciality is steel. For M7 Metals he works across the European and Middle Eastern markets as well as supervision of shipping logistics. Moji has a deep technical knowledge of most steel products from semi-finished (billet and slab) all the way through to high value steels such as stainless, electrical, tinplate and special alloy steels.

Moji is based in London and a fan of Chelsea football club with a family of 2 sons, 2 daughters and 1 grandchild.

Richard Edmonds
Partner

Richard has worked in steel trading for 29 years having joined Stemcor USA in 1993. He became a founding partner of M7 Metals in 2016.

He has extensive knowledge of flat rolled steel, value added products such as stainless and electrical steel and steel-related raw materials – particularly pig iron and ferro alloys.

Richard enjoys building and maintaining relationships with both suppliers and customers and owes his success to an open dialogue and integrity in his business dealings. He looks for a win-win in all his trades.

Richard is an avid cyclist and a wannabe rock star in his band. He is based in New York City and is married with two teenage daughters.

Paul Harsant
Chief Financial Officer

Paul has been in the commodity trading industry since 1996, with more than 20 years developing businesses in the steel supply chain. Initially with Stemcor, including founding their Zug operations in Switzerland, Paul discovered a passion for all things steel and a desire continually to find more efficient solutions.

Paul enjoys building long-term business relationships based on integrity and trust. After forays into other commodity market (gas, oil and non-ferrous metals), Paul joined M7 Metals in July 2022 as its inaugural CFO.

Outside of the office, when not following cricket, Paul reaches for the outdoors to hike, grill, go lake-swimming and generally enjoy the simple things in life. He lives in Zug, Switzerland and is married with two children.

Koroush Khojasteh
Head of Derivatives

Koroush is the Head of Derivatives trading at M7 Metals.

After graduating from Cambridge university with an MPhil in Economics and Finance, Koroush has spent his time developing a “quantamental” approach to metals derivatives trading by creating a quantitative infrastructure and combining it with traditional fundamental analysis.

Koroush is a strong proponent of data-driven and probability-based decision making in order to navigate dynamic market landscapes.

Prior to M7 Metals, Koroush led the development of Stemcor’s derivatives department and has the experience of working on the trading floor of HSBC in the inflation rates space.
